On 4th February 2025, the IEEE PES SBC at The University of Manchester hosted their 2025 Annual General Meeting. This meeting was open to all interested parties, both internal and external to the university. Run by 2024 and continuing 2025 Chair, Elizabeth Michalenko, the AGM gave attendees an overview of the PES SBC group, a chance to vote in the new committee elections, and the opportunity to contribute to plans for 2025.
The event reviewed 2024’s events, including the very successful Lister Drive site visit and the annual Manchester Energy and Electrical Power Systems (MEEPS) Research Symposium. Following the year’s review, an open call was made for nominations to vacant roles, and elections were completed. The PES SBC at UoM was very pleased to welcome the following committee members to their new roles:

The AGM highlighted the growing interest from the UoM community in IEEE professional and academic opportunities. The new 2025 committee is eager to continue the work of previous cohorts by providing diverse opportunities to all students and professionals interested in the power and energy sector.
