The MEEPS (Manchester Energy and Electrical Power Systems) Workshop is expected to be the biggest and best yet. Building on the success of the previous 4 years’ events, MEEPS is moving to a new home at the Manchester Conference Centre. 2017 will see MEEPS take on the new challenge of Big Data and its role in Power Systems of today and of the future.

But what does ‘Big Data’ entail?

Big Data Applications is the umbrella title. The event will focus on three sub-categories within this:

  1. Big Data Tools and Methods
  2. Big Data Applications in Decision Making
  3. Big Data Applications in Distributed Systems

Big Data applies across the Power Systems world, from Condition Monitoring to Smart Meters, Wind Power Estimation to Generation-Demand Balancing.

Invited Speakers from across the industry spectrum will talk about their views on Big Data in the Power Systems world. To find out more about who is speaking, and about what, check out our SPEAKERS page!

MEEPS is also a great chance to showcase your own research, as well as to develop your presentation skills and to meet new people in your field!

Abstract submission is now OPEN! Please send your abstract to ieeesb.pes.chapteruom@gmail.com using this template.

Deadline for MEEPS registration is 29th October 2017.

For more information, visit the Q&A Page or e-mail ieeesb.pes.chapteruom@gmail.com.

There will be awards for ‘Best Poster’ and ‘Best Presentation’, as well as introducing a new award, sponsored by the IEEE Young Professionals Society. The new award can be entered for optionally, by completing the second half of the abstract template. The key here is to indicate how your research can be adopted by industry. Advice is offered within the template.
