Update 6th August: The committee meeting is held as usual. We summary the last month work and the following plan. The WiE and MEEPS 2019 are coming. We have prepared different presents for the talkers and gusts. Hope for the wonderful events. In addition, most of the lectures have been done. One DLP lecture is coming in September.
Update 17th July: Today we had a workshop about “Literature Review Made Easy by Using Technical Publications”. Mr. Hill introduced the basic information of IEEE and CIGRE first. Then, Prof. Jarman introduce the publication process of an IEC standard. Finally, Dr. Panteli presents how to be a member of those institutes and the benefits by his own experience. Those talks are really helpful to the development of our PGRs no matter where we want to go after graduation.
Update 1st July: The second DLP lecture this year is held today. The lecture is given by Prof. Pierluigi Mancarella from The University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also the part time professor of Smart Energy Systems at The University of Manchester, UK. The topic is “Flexibility, Reliability and Resilience Services from Distributed Multi-Energy Resources”. The lecture hasn’t been uploaded on the website. Once it’s done, we will announce that on the social media.
Update 29th May: Today we have the first DLP lecture this year from Prof. Luis(Nando) Ochoa who is the professor form The University of Melbourne, Australia and he is also the part-time professor of Smart Grids at The University of Manchester, UK. The lecture is about the “Intelligent Control of Electric Vehicles”. So many people join this lecture and the photos are posted on the website. Don’t forget follow us on the social media.
Update 29th April: Today we invited Prof. Keith Bell from University of Strathclyde to the technical lecture ‘Accommodating Distributed Energy Resources: Technical, Commercial and Regulatory Challenges’. It was a really wonderful lecture. So many students joint this lecture and we had a really good discussion about energy management. If you missed the technical lecture, don’t forget to download the slides PDF copies.
Update 8th April: We have our second committee meeting today. And we are going to have another technical lecture by Prof. Keith Bell from University of Strathclyde. As for WinE activity, Dr. Jessica Louise Boland, a lecturer in Functional Materials and Devices in the Materials and Devices Division in the School of EEE at the University of Manchester, will give a wonderful talk and a workshop. Look forward to the activity, Women in Engineering 2019.
Update 8th March: The Industrial Lectures are really wonderful. Thank Daniel Otto from Siemens and Tony Porrelli from Omicron for their sharing knowledge about the future trend in control, protection and protection testing. It’s a really good chance to know more practical knowledge about industry.
